STUDIOS FACILITIES

More than a recording studios, Durbuy Music is your creative haven, complete with everything to make a Writing Camp comfortable: a large open kitchen, a cozy lounge and an enchanting forest, ready to fuel your creativity. Full catering services are also provided.

ACCOMMODATION

Participants will be accommodated in a beautiful classic Belgian style guest house, foot distance from the studios.

Campers will stay in shared rooms, each offering ample space and comfort to welcome all the 24 participants.

Please note that during the camp, you won't only be able to work on your own project

(for example 3 days for you and 2 for others).

Dit is niet zomaar een songwritingkamp, het is een kans om je artistieke reis te transformeren, omringd door gelijkgestemde individuen en begeleid door professionals uit de industrie.

Bij Durbuy Music zijn we gepassioneerd over creativiteit.
We hebben een groeiende interesse in onze songwritingkampen gezien van mensen die nieuw zijn in het vak en graag hun vaardigheden willen verkennen en ontwikkelen.
Ons Summer Retreat Songwritingkamp is speciaal afgestemd op semi-professionals en biedt een echte songwritingervaring in plaats van een workshop.
Met de steun en begeleiding van professionals uit de industrie, word je in staat gesteld om te gedijen in een creatieve omgeving die groei en inspiratie bevordert.

Wat kunt u verwachten?

Songwriting in het paradijs

Ons zomerverblijf, genesteld in de natuur en met adembenemende uitzichten op de rivier, is de perfecte plek om songwriting te doen en grote stappen te zetten om een professional te worden.

Hoogtepunten van het dagelijkse schema

Ochtenden: Begin uw dag met optionele activiteiten zoals yoga, klanktherapie of een ochtendhardlooprondje om uw lichaam en geest voor te bereiden op een dag vol creativiteit.

Masterclasses: Elke dag is er een masterclass die wordt geleid door een andere professional uit de sector.
Ze blijven na hun masterclass beschikbaar, blijven met u in gesprek tijdens uw eigen schrijfsessies en bieden gepersonaliseerde tips, inzichten en ondersteuning.

Schrijfsessies: Werk samen in samengestelde teams om nieuwe nummers te schrijven. Creatieve uitdagingen moedigen je aan om out of the box te denken en met beperkingen te werken, wat erg inspirerend kan zijn.

Avonden: ontspan met jamsessies, kampvuurspellen en luister naar alle nummers die gedurende de week zijn opgenomen.

Leer van de besten

Maak kennis met onze gastcoaches: Elvin Galland (Producer Damso, Mentissa, Vianney), Billie Leyers (OYESONO).

Je hoofdcoaches, Mondingo (Domien Cnockaert) en Le Manou (Manou Maerten), brengen jarenlange professionele ervaring in songwriting en productie mee.
Gedurende de week begeleiden ze je door songwritingtechnieken, productietrucs en de kunst van samenwerking.

Onze laatste coach, Boris Engels, sluit de retraite af met een spoedcursus over het uitbrengen van muziek in 2025 en het opbouwen van een community als songwriter, producer of artiest.

What are we writing for?

We will write for the artists at the camp, fresh leads and briefs we collected from industry professionals looking for specific songs.
Why would I want to be part of this?

This is a great opportunity to collaborate with other professional songwriters, grow your co-writing skills, expand your international network, and write and score a successful release. It's also a way to get noticed by industry professionals, potentially leading to more writing sessions, camps, and even getting signed.
What level of expertise is required to join the Durbuy Music Camps?

Our camps maintain an industry-level quality standard. To ensure high-quality output, applicants are carefully reviewed and selected based on this criterion.
What's the price to participate in a camp?

Early birds tickets for each writing camp start at €799,- and normal admission will be €899,-. VAT incl. After your participation is confirmed, we will send an invoice.
How can I make the retreat more affordable?

Most authors or copyrights organization offer grants for authors participating songwriting initiatives to cover their costs.
What happens to the songs after the camps?

Some writers may want to release a song for their artist project, others will choose to pitch the song themselves to other artists or purposes. Songs written for special industry needs will be sent to the right places. We will also help by sending open songs to our network of music professionals and A&R’s in the music industry.
What output is expected from a writing session?

We expect 1 strong song from every writing session, each day. The song must sound good enough to pitch it to professionals, as it will compete between other excellent produced songs.
What should I bring to the camp?

Our camps are designed to be all inclusive for your convenience. We suggest that you bring what you would normally bring on any hotel stay trip (ie. clothing, toiletries, etc.). We encourage you to bring your laptop and headphones to work on the production and mixing. Our studios has a large offer of instruments on site, thanks to our gear room but you can also bring your favourite instrument. Lastly, don't forget your open-mind and your creativity!
Are the rooms shared?

We encourage shared rooms for the benefit of collaboration and community engagement. But you may upgrade your package to include a private room if you wish, at an additional cost of 175€ VAT incl.
